Even as ICICI Bank may overtake HDFC Bank as most valued bank, it would find it hard to sustain the top slot, analysts say. A lot of it has to do with fundamentals.

HDFC Bank has a problem. The price of its shares are stuck in a rut, while that of its rival, the country’s second-largest lender ICICI Bank, has been steadily heading North, fast closing the valuation gap.
