At least one person died following the crash of a small aircraft Saturday afternoon, nearly 50 miles south of Albany, New York.

A single-engine Cessna C180G plane crashed in a field near Trilla, Illinois, on Saturday morning, resulting in the deaths of all four people on board including two men and two women, the Associated Press reported citing officials.

Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers confirmed the victims were two men and two women but said additional details will be released after their families have been notified.

According to the Transportation Safety Board, the plane went down shortly after 10 am, reportedly hitting power lines before the crash.

“Terrible news out of Coles County,” said Governor JB Pritzker in a statement, adding that state officials are monitoring the situation and offering support to those affected.
