Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the alleged use of drone strikes and military operations by the Pakistan army against civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, calling the actions “unjustified" and “unacceptable".

In a statement shared on social media site X, Khan declared, “The deployment of drone strikes and military force against our own people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must come to an immediate halt. These actions are not only unconstitutional but also represent a grave injustice to the citizens of this country."

He called on chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur and the provincial government to “vigorously resist" such operations, underscoring their duty to protect the rights and lives of their constituents.

“Our people have been fired upon with live bullets," Khan claimed, condemning what he described as the excessive use of force against peaceful citizens.

The jailed former prime minister also criticised what he views as increasing political repression, pointing to the disqualification of the opposition leaders in parliament as evidence of a broader crackdown on democratic voices.

These remarks come amid heightened tensions between Imran Khan’s political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the country’s powerful military establishment.

Khan’s statements underscore growing concerns about civil-military relations, democratic backsliding, and the use of state power in Pakistan’s restive regions.

“They may imprison me or any member of my family, but I will neither retreat from my stance nor bow before this military junta," he asserted defiantly.
