Sanjay Raut Questions Authenticity of Rashmi Shukla's Report, Alleges Political Motivation
A special investigation report submitted by outgoing Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla makes explosive allegations against former DGP Sanjay Pandey. The report, given to the Maharashtra Home Department, alleges that in 2021, Pandey 'sought to frame Devendra Fadnavis, who was then the leader of the opposition, and instructed the THAN ADCP, Lakshmikanth Patel, and the EAST ACP, Sardar Patel, to arrest Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde' in connection with the 2016 Urban Land Ceiling scam. The Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray faction, through Sanjay Raut, has questioned the report's timing and authenticity, suggesting it is politically motivated to favour the BJP ahead of crucial municipal corporation elections in Thane, Mira-Bhayandar, and Mumbai. Raut alleges Shukla has an RSS background and that the report cannot be trusted.
