Escalating its confrontation with the United States in West Asia, Iran on Friday issued a fresh warning that it would "completely annihilate" the mega American-linked AI data centre Stargate, which is being developed by major tech giants in Abu Dhabi. The warning follows US President Donald Trump's threat to target Iran’s power plants, and follows an earlier Iranian attack on global technology firms Amazon and Oracle.

Iranian Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari asserted that “nothing remains beyond our sight, even if concealed by Google,” while pointing to the specific location of the proposed 5-gigawatt artificial intelligence campus. The project is a collaborative venture involving Nvidia, OpenAI, Cisco, Oracle, and Japan’s SoftBank.

It was US President Donald Trump who, during his visit to the country, signed a multibillion-dollar deal to build one of the world’s largest data centre hubs in Abu Dhabi.

"Should the USA proceed with its threats concerning Iran's power plant facilities, the following retaliatory measures shall be promptly enacted. All power plants, energy infrastructure, and information and communication technology of the Zionist regime, as well as all similar companies within the region that have American shareholders, shall face complete and utter annihilation," Lt Colonel Zolfaghari said in a video message.
