In an exclusive interview with India Today, Zohreh Kharazmi, Associate Professor at the University of Tehran, discussed the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Kharazmi dismissed the recent ultimatums issued by Donald Trump regarding the Strait of Hormuz, stating that Iranians are mocking his 'insane words' and 'bombastic' social media threats. She argued that the Iranian people are willing to pay a high price to maintain their sovereignty, stating, 'For Iranians, it is a better option not to be Libya, not to be Palestine, not to be Lebanon, not to be Iraq.' Kharazmi maintained that Iran remains the victor in the current conflict, despite infrastructure damage and the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. She emphasised that the Islamic Republic remains a stable and popular government. According to Kharazmi, the war will continue until Iran's demands regarding the Strait of Hormuz and regional peace are met, asserting that Iran possesses the military capacity to sustain a long-term conflict.
