Explosions were heard over Doha as Iran reportedly launched up to 10 missiles targeting US bases in Qatar, including the al-Udeid Air Base—the largest American military facility in the region.
Axios, citing an Israeli official, said six missiles were aimed at US troops, while sirens were activated in Bahrain, urging residents to take shelter. Qatar condemned the strikes as a “flagrant violation" of its sovereignty.
The White House and Pentagon are closely monitoring the situation. The Indian Embassy in Qatar has advised its nationals to stay indoors and follow local advisories.
Over the weekend, US bombers struck Iran’s heavily guarded and secret nuclear enrichment sites, joining Israel’s military efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear programme.
The White House called the high-risk bombing mission a complete success, with President Trump later posting that “Monumental Damage was done" to Iran’s nuclear sites. However, there is no independent confirmation yet of how much Iran’s nuclear program has actually been affected.
Israel, the United States, and other Western countries accuse Iran of trying to secretly build nuclear weapons while claiming it’s running a civilian nuclear energy program — a charge Iran has always denied.
