Thick smoke plumed from Israel's largest hospital after it was hit by a missile on Thursday morning as Iran launched fresh attack. The Soroka hospital in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba was hit by a ballistic missile.

At least 47 people have been injured across Israel as a result of Iranian missile strikes, according to Reuters report citing rescue teams responding to multiple impact sites on Thursday.

Videos from the site showed people running through corridors filled with dust and detritus and doctors standing outside amid wreckage from the building.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following this morning’s ballistic missile attack by Iran, which struck a hospital in Beersheba as well as several other population centers in Central Israel.

The Soroka Medical Center, targetted by Iran, is the main hospital in Israel’s south and has over 1,000 beds and provides services to the approximately 1 million residents of the area.

A spokesperson for the hospital reported “damage to the hospital and extensive damage in various areas. We are currently assessing the damage, including injuries. We ask the public not to come to the hospital at this time.”

Reacting to the fresh attack, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "This morning, Iran's terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheba and at civilians in central Israel. We will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran.”

Earlier today, sirens sounded across the country and several loud blasts were heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The latest round of airstrikes marks the seventh day of military actions by Israel, which has previously targeted key Iranian nuclear sites, including facilities in Natanz and Isfahan.
