The Israeli army has killed a top Hamas commander, Abd al-Hadi Sabah, who led the attack on a Jewish settlement during the October 7, 2023, terror onslaught, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) said on Tuesday.

The commander of Hamas’s elite Nukhba force in Khan Younis was killed in a recent drone strike, the Israeli military and Shin Bet said. He led the terrorist attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz in Israel, during which terrorists kidnapped and murdered dozens, the army said.

"Abd al-Hadi Sabah--who operated from a shelter in the Humanitarian Area in Khan Yunis--was one of the leaders of the infiltration into Kibbutz Nir Oz during the murderous October 7 Massacre. Sabah also led and advanced numerous terrorist attacks against IDF troops throughout the current war," the IDF tweeted.
