Pakistani terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba have asked their cadres to be on high alert and help the Pakistan army inside India, top intelligence sources have told CNN-News18.

Jaish and Lashkar have asked their operatives hiding near the Peer Panjal range in Indian territory to block highways if a war breaks out between the two countries, said the sources.

The groups have purportedly also asked their cadres in India to damage houses of police personnel in the same way homes of several terrorists have been torn down by the administration in Jammu and Kashmir since last week’s Pahalgam attack.

In their communication, the terror groups have told their operatives to go ahead with their actions without bothering about civilian killings, said the sources.

The terrorist attack on April 22 at Baisaran, dubbed “mini Switzerland" for its meadow, in Pahalgam, left 26 people dead, mostly Indian tourists.

Following the attack, India downgraded diplomatic ties with Pakistan and announced a raft of measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and the revocation of visa services for Pakistani nationals.
