US Vice President JD Vance slammed "woke culture" at CPAC, claiming it pressures young men to feel ashamed.
JD Vance and US President Donald Trump are strong opponents of 'woke culture.'
US Vice President JD Vance kicked off the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland. The Vice President gave a bold message to young men in the United States. The Republican leader blamed a "broken culture" for making the young men and boys feel bad for what they do. He insisted that there was nothing wrong with youth to make jokes or crack a beer.
At CPAC, Vance said, “My message to young men is don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man, because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends, or because you’re competitive.”
Vance and US President Donald Trump are strong opponents of "woke culture,” which seeks to break traditional gender norms. During the 2024 campaign, Trump appeared several appearances on podcasts that are popular with young men.
JD Vance did not specifically address any topic. However, the 40-year-old claimed that US culture today wants to make all men and women "androgynous idiots” who are forced to follow the same mindset.
“[Our culture] wants to turn everybody, whether male or female, into androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same, and act the same.”

Let men be men: JD Vance's message at CPAC
The US Vice President has supported Donald Trump’s conservative outlook on gender. On the day Trump took office, he declared legal recognition for only two genders- male and female.
Vance doubled down on this viewpoint. He emphasized that God had created the two genders for a reason, hinting that the White House will promote this viewpoint under Trump.
“We actually think God made male and female for a purpose, and we want you guys to thrive as young men, and as young women. And we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that,” he stated.
JD Vance doubles down on pro-life stance
Vance has been a long-standing opponent of abortion. Last month, the Vice President stated that the country had failed to provide for the next generation due to abortion. “We march to protect the unborn; we march to proclaim and live out the sacred truth that every single child is a miracle and a gift from God," he said at March For Life.
At CPAC, he asserted that people needed to recognize that babies are a blessing which must be cherished, rather than being aborted. "Stop thinking babies are inconveniences to be discarded. We have to start thinking of them as blessings to be cherished,” he said.
