US Vice President JD Vance went viral after dressing as his own meme for Halloween.
US Vice President JD Vance wasn’t hiding behind a mask this Halloween he became one. The Ohio Republican showed up online dressed as his own viral meme, curly wig and all.
“Happy Halloween everyone, remember to say thank you while you trick or treat!” Vance said in a cheerful TikTok post.
Over on X, Vance shared a tongue-in-cheek meme inspired by the infamous “bald Vance” image that once flooded the internet. Within hours, MAGA commentators and meme-makers were flooding his mentions.
But the Vice President’s light-hearted costume came just as he faced backlash for his recent remarks about his wife’s Hindu faith.
DEFENDS HIS COMMENTS ON WIFE USHA
Earlier on Friday, Vance defended his comments about his wife, Usha Vance, made during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi.
“She is not a Christian and has no plans to convert,” Vance wrote on X. “But like many people in an interfaith marriage, I hope she may one day see things as I do.”
Critics accused him of being dismissive of his wife’s faith after he told the audience he hoped she might “one day come to Christ.” But Vance pushed back hard, calling the outrage “disgusting” and rooted in “anti-Christian bigotry.”
“What a disgusting comment, and it’s hardly been the only one along these lines,” he wrote in response to one critic online.
During the university event, Vance explained that his wife often attends church with him and their children, who are being raised Christian, but insisted that faith differences don’t create conflict in their marriage.
“If she doesn’t (convert), then God says everybody has free will,” he said. “That’s something you work out with your friends, with your family, with the person that you love.”
