JSW Energy closes QIP issue; allocates 7.62 crore shares at ₹525 apiece

JSW Energy Ltd on Monday (May 25) said its Finance Committee has approved the closure of its qualified institutions placement issue, following receipt of application forms and funds from eligible qualified institutional buyers.

The committee approved the allocation of 7.62 crore equity shares at an issue price of ₹525 per share, including a premium of ₹515 per share.

The issue price represents a discount of ₹9.05 per share, or 1.69%, to the floor price of ₹534.05 per share determined under Securities and Exchange Board of India regulations.

The company also approved and finalised the confirmation of allocation note to be sent to eligible qualified institutional buyers and adopted the placement document dated May 25, 2026.

Fourth Quarter Results

Voltas reported a sharp decline in its fourth-quarter earnings, with net profit falling 51.8% year-on-year to ₹116.2 crore compared with ₹241 crore in the same period last year. Despite the drop in profitability, the company posted a modest rise in revenue, which grew 2.5% to ₹4,887.8 crore from ₹4,767.6 crore on a YoY basis.

Operating performance remained under pressure during the quarter, as EBITDA declined 33.7% to ₹220.7 crore, down from ₹332.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The contraction in operating profit was also reflected in margins, which narrowed to 4.5% from 7% a year ago.
