Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, said details on casualties or damages have not yet been released. The event is surrounded by conflicting information; some media claimed Pakistan targeted Noor Wali Masood, the leader of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP). However, TOLO news received an audio message attributed to Masood in which he “rejects claims that an attack has been carried out on him in Kabul.” Taliban officials and some Afghan journalists are also reportedly denying that a Pakistani air operation occurred. The timing of the incident is noted as significant, as the Afghan Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, is in India for a scheduled meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
