Following the directive, Siddaramaiah invited Shivakumar for a breakfast meeting on Saturday, reiterating that both leaders would follow the high command’s decisions. He added that he would travel to Delhi if summoned.
Infighting has resurfaced as supporters of both camps push for their leaders to occupy the chief minister’s post—a dispute that began after the Congress’s 2023 Assembly election victory. Although Siddaramaiah became chief minister, reports suggested an informal power-sharing deal, and Shivakumar’s loyalists are now more vocal as Siddaramaiah completes 2.5 years in office.
