Khloe Kardashian speaks out: Why she took kids to Tristan's game

Khloe Kardashian has made it clear—she's not interested in fuelling rumours about her relationship with ex Tristan Thompson. But sometimes, the public’s perception is hard to avoid.

During the February 20 episode of The Kardashians, Khloe opened up about feeling anxious before attending one of Tristan’s Cleveland Cavaliers games last year with their two kids, True, 6, and Tatum, 2.

"I did have a lot of anxiety about going—more for the public's reaction, which is so lame to say," she admitted in a confessional. "My family, my circle, they know that Tristan and I are not together, but it's sad that I had a lot of anxiety because of outside noise."

Despite her hesitations, Khloe ultimately decided to go for the sake of her children.

"F... this, I'm doing this for my kids," she said, adding that the experience was well worth it. "It was such a great experience for my kids. They were so happy."

True, in particular, was overjoyed to watch her dad play.

"She had the time of her life," Khloe shared. "She’s old enough. She gets it. She is so proud. She was so excited to see her dad play and to be in that atmosphere."

Shutting down the speculation

Khloe’s decision to attend the game may have been motivated by her kids, but she knew it could also reignite rumours about her relationship with Tristan.

In 2020, reconciliation rumours surfaced after she captioned an Instagram post of True, "The only thing I need you to remember is how much your daddy and I love you!" When fans speculated that she and Tristan were back together, she quickly set the record straight, responding, "It means her parents love her beyond measure."

The rumours persisted, and in May 2023, Khloe once again had to shut down speculation about her relationship with Tristan. Responding to online gossip, she expressed her frustration, writing, "I suppose you guys will continue the narrative you want regardless of what I say so what's the point. It's exhausting but I learnt people will only understand to the level of their own perception."

She further stated, "Most are stuck at believing the lies because it's the narrative they want to fuel.
