Delhi Lieutenant-Governor VK Saxena held ground visits to several parts of Delhi amid the Aam Aadmi Party’s high-octane campaign for the assembly elections in February next year. He later took to X, flagging the lack of basic amenities in South Delhi’s Rangpuri Pahari area and Kapashera in the South-West region of the national capital.

He shared visuals from his interaction with locals in the two areas, who complained about poor drainage, scarcity of drinking water, and high electricity bills among other issues. The L-G urged Chief Minister Atishi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to take immediate steps to fix the problems.

Saxena mentioned that he witnessed similar situations during his earlier ground visits to Burari, Kirari, Kalandar Colony, Sangam Vihar, Mundka, and Gokulpuri.

“After repeated requests from the local residents, I toured the Rangpuri Pahari in South Delhi and Kapashera in South-West Delhi, accompanied by the local MP, Ramvir Bidhuri Ji," he mentioned.

He said the areas he visited lacked basic civic amenities and services, adding there was no drainage system with narrow lanes constantly filled with sludge and dirty water.
