A new controversy has erupted in Bihar, pointing to yet another rift in Lalu Prasad’s family, ahead of the assembly elections. The latest row comes after Sanjay Yadav, a close aide of Tejashwi Yadav, was seen in the front seat on the campaign bus during the RJD’s Bihar Adhikar Yatra.

The image soon caught the internet’s attention, with a social media influencer pointing to it, saying that the front seat was meant for the top leadership. The influencer did not mention any name and said that some politicians are portraying themselves as being above the leadership by suddenly projecting the image of “strategists." The post also noted that the people of Bihar have always seen Tejashwi or Lalu occupying the front seat during such yatras.

Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya also reshared the post, drawing speculations about the rift in the family. However, hours later, she posted pictures of leaders from backward communities seated in front and wrote on X, “Elevating the underprivileged and those at the bottom of society has been the goal of Lalu Prasad’s campaign for social and economic justice."

Rohini Acharya Makes Her X Handle Private

The row doesn’t end here. Rohini has been making cryptic posts for the past few days.

In a post on X on Friday, she wrote, “I have been performing my duties as a daughter and a sister and will continue to do so. Neither am I hankering after a post, nor do I have any political ambitions. For me, self-respect is supreme."

In another post, she shared a video while she was being taken to the operating theater for the surgery that saved her father’s life in 2022.

“For those who are ready to make sacrifices, putting their own life at stake, fearlessness, boldness, and self-respect run in the blood," Acharya wrote.

Her posts sparked speculations about a fresh rift in the Yadav family ahead of polls.

Several media reports also claimed that she made her X account private, unfollowing Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD’s social media handle.

Tej Pratap Yadav Backs Sister

Tej Pratap Yadav, who was earlier expelled from the party, has come in support of his sister Rohini. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, he said, “Rohini is much older than me. As a child, I have played in her lap. The sacrifice she had made is hard for any daughter, sister or mother. The anguish she has expressed is justified."

The former state minister, who is a devotee of Lord Krishna, added in his trademark style, “I am fully with my sister in the ongoing episode. Whoever dares to insult her will have to face the ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ (a discus used by the deity to slay his adversaries)".
