“Winter is coming,” a metaphor that lit up “Game of Thrones”, portending impending gloom, may as well apply to India's liquefied natural gas (LNG) importers as they prepare for a surge in prices of the fuel, already at a multiyear high. A perfect storm is brewing: Europe is staring at low natural gas storage levels; the West Asian war shows no signs of ending, crippling a fifth of global LNG supplies; and Asian nations are frantically seeking alternative sources.
