Lok Sabha Polls: Naidu, Shah Hold Second Round of Talks, Announcement on BJP-TDP Deal Soon

BJP national president JP Nadda is expected to announce BJP-TDP deal in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls shortly

The second round of alliance talks between N Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party and the BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls took place on Saturday at Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence.

Sources told News18 that the alliance between the two parties in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and assembly elections in the state has been finalised. BJP national president JP Nadda is expected to announce the deal shortly. Lok Sabha and assembly polls will be held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh.

TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda in Delhi on Thursday night.

Rebel YSR Congress Party MP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju said the BJP-TDP alliance will soon be officially announced and called the coming together of the BJP, TDP, and Jana Sena Party essential to rid the state of the “devil” ruling it in an apparent jibe at Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party.

Senior TDP leader and Rajya Sabha MP K Ravindra Kumar Friday said that the BJP, the Jana Sena, and his party have decided in principle to work together for upcoming polls.

According to sources, the BJP is asking for 6-8 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, however, the final arrangement may be at 4-5 seats. On the other hand, seat-sharing talks between the TDP and Jan Sena Party have already been finalised. Jan Sena Party got 3 Lok Sabha and 24 assembly seats.
