Anyone who has ever had a long layover knows the struggles all too well. Aching legs, heavy eyelids, and that desperate search for a quiet spot to stretch out before the next flight. For most travellers, long layovers are something to dread.

However, at Istanbul Airport, the iGA Sleepods offer the perfect solution. These compact pods are designed for travellers needing a quick nap or a few hours of rest between flights. Cosy and convenient, they offer ample luggage storage, a comfortable spot to relax, and even a USB port to keep your devices charged.

A man with over 3 hours of layover at the Istanbul Airport informed, “These iGA Sleepods at Istanbul Airport are one of the best affordable options if you’re stuck on a long layover," the digital creator began his post. He shared that he booked a sleepod for €12 per hour, or approximately Rs 1,222. Each pod comes with a charging socket, USB port, and luggage space. If you want, you can also rent a pillow and a blanket for another €5, or Rs 509, which the airport staff will bring to you."

How Istanbul Airport’s Sleepods Work

He continued, “They’re located airside near Gate D, so you don’t need to leave the terminal. Each pod has a USB port, power socket, luggage space, and disposable blanket, and you can rent them for €12 per hour during the day or €20 at night."

The vlogger further mentioned that these pods are semi-open, meaning one would still see some light and hear some noise and chatter. Despite the two small downsides, he emphasised that such sleepods are “hard to beat" when it comes to convenience and comfort. He also offered an important piece of advice: Before you drift off to sleep, remember to set your own alarm. There is no wake-up service, and you could miss your flight.

Internet Has Varied Reactions To The Sleepods

Soon, the video caught the Internet’s attention, with one user saying, “Affordable naps? Sign me up forever. But also… double alarm or I live here now and definitely miss my flight."

Another added, “What a great idea. I was a commuting flight attendant what I wouldn’t have done for one of these and I couldn’t get on a flight to go home after I’ve already worked a 16-hour flight, two hours without people looking at you just to close your eyes. Wonderful idea."

“My claustrophobia entered the chat," one person joked.

Someone else pointed out the slightly expensive cost of the pods, writing, “24bucks?? The floor is comfortable enough."
