PM Modi at Maha Kumbh Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be at Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh mela on Wednesday, February 5. He is set to take the holy dip at 11 am.

A high alert has been issued in the city in view of the PM’s visit as several devotees have been taking holy dip in Sangam round-the-clock. PM Modi will also do ‘darshan’ at the temple where Lord Hanuman is in lying position and ‘Akshayvat’.

According to reports, the prime minister will be in the city for nearly two hours. A special alert has been issued for his security in Arail area, while in-charges of five mela areas have been deployed for PM’s arrival. The site of the Maha Kumbh festival has been divided into five main areas, including Jhunsi, Parade, Sangam, Teliyarganj, and Arail.

The last time PM Narendra Modi had come to Prayagraj was on December 13, 2024 when he had laid the foundation stone of 167 projects worth Rs 5,500.

• According to local reports, the areas where PM Modi will visit has been taken over by Security Guard (NSG). Magistrates and a large number of police force, PAC and RAF personnel have been deployed. Security has been beefed up at the Ganga ghats. Those going towards Kumbh Nagari are being thoroughly checked.

• Chief minister Adityanath and several ministers of the state government will also accompany the prime minister. Mela officer Vijay Kiran Anand said that all preparations for PM’s program have been completed. “Five magistrates and a large number of police forces have been deployed. The Prime Minister will worship Maa Ganga after taking a bath in Sangam," he added.

• PM Narendra Modi had visited the 2019 kumbh mela as well. He had then taken a holy dip and washed the feet of sanitation workers.

• The PMO said that in line with his commitment to promote and preserve India’s spiritual and cultural heritage, the Prime Minister has continuously taken proactive steps to enhance infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage sites.
