BJP leader Mihir Kotecha from Maharashtra has raised concerns over his safety, alleging an attempted breach of security and a possible threat to his life by three unknown individuals.

According to Kotecha, the incident took place on Friday while he was having dinner at a hotel in Mulund (West) with a few team members after his campaign for the upcoming assembly elections.

Kotecha, the BJP-led Mahayuti candidate for the Mulund constituency in Maharashtra, has written a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of the state S. Chockalingam about the incident, calling for a thorough investigation and take strict action against the three individuals involved.

In his letter, Kotecha claimed that his political opponents may be behind the incident, which he describes as a violation of the election code of conduct and a direct threat to his life, as per a report by Mid-Day.

Kotecha shared details of the incident, explaining that three suspicious individuals arrived in a white WagonR and told his security team that he had called them for a meeting.

“When my security team inquired, one of them mentioned his name as Nitin Bhai. However, I had not called anyone to meet me," he noted in his letter.

He further added, “I told my security team the same. I was shocked to learn how they knew my whereabouts at that time. Despite their insistence, my security team sternly denied them entry, and they left."

The BJP leader revealed that even in the past he has faced multiple attacks during his campaign. “My back office was also attacked, and more than two FIRs were filed. I strongly suspect that my opponents are once again attempting to harm, hurt, or attack me. They are following me and monitoring my movements with ill intentions," he said.
