The 15 candidates with the highest victory margins of over one lakh votes came from BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP
The Mahayuti Alliance defied all expectations in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections, clinching 235 of the 288 assembly seats.
Maharashtra Election Results 2024: People gave a clear mandate to the Mahayuti (BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP) in the Maharashtra election as it won more than 234 out of 288 constituencies, reducing the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) to a measly 50 seats. The results left all pollsters stunned as the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) singlehandedly secured 132 seats, falling 12 short of the halfway mark (145).
Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena secured 57 seats, while Ajit Pawar’s ist Congress Party (NCP) won 41 seats. The 15 candidates with the highest victory margins of over one lakh votes came from these three parties: eight from the BJP, four from the NCP, and three from the Shiv Sena. Kashiram Vechan Pawara of the BJP emerged with the highest margin, winning Shirpur by 1,45,944 votes, followed by BJP’s Shivendraraje Bhonsale, who triumphed in Satara with a margin of 1,42,124 votes.

Among other prominent figures, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde secured a victory with over one lakh votes, winning the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency by 1,20,717 votes. In Baramati, Ajit Pawar defeated his nephew, NCP-Sharad Pawar faction candidate Yugendra Pawar, by 1,00,899 votes. Ajit Pawar had previously won the same seat in 2019 with a margin of 1.65 lakh votes.
In Pune, BJP’s Shankar Jagtap won the Chinchwad seat with 2,35,323 votes, the highest for any candidate, while BJP’s Mahesh Landge came second in Bhosari with 2,13,624 votes. NCP’s Dhananjay Munde followed with 1,94,889 votes in Parli.
On the other hand, four candidates won their constituencies with narrow margins of less than a thousand votes. Mufti Mohammad Ismail Abdul Khalique of the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won Malegaon Central by just 162 votes, defeating Asif Shaikh Rasheed of the Indian Secular Largest Assembly of Maharashtra.

State Congress President Nana Patole won the Sakoli constituency with a slim margin of 208 votes, narrowly defeating BJP’s Avinash Brahmankar. Manda Mahtre of the BJP won the Belapur seat in Navi Mumbai with a margin of only 377 votes, defeating Sandeep Naik of the NCP-Sharad Pawar faction.
