A 26-year-old man named Arjun Sharma allegedly killed his girlfriend in the United States and later left for India after filing a missing person report with the Howard County police. The County Police, at present, are working with the United States federal law enforcement to locate and arrest Sharma.

As cops said, Sharma filed a complaint on January 2, citing that his girlfriend, Nikitha Godishala,27, of Ellicott City, had been missing since New Year’s Eve. He further noted that he last saw his girlfriend at his flat, located on Columbia’s Twin Rivers Road.

Based on his complaint, the police took swift action and started investigating the case. As investigations unravelled, they soon came to know that Sharma had left for India on the same day he filed the missing person’s report to the police.

As suspicion intensified, the Detective Department soon issued a search warrant for his flat. On December 3, they located the body of Godishala at Sharma’s flat with stab marks on her body.

After recovering the body, the police issued an arrest warrant against Sharma and are presently looking for him.

As further investigations go on, the police are presently trying to find the real motive behind the murder.
