US Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr has described President Donald Trump’s eating habits as the most “unhinged" he has seen. Speaking on a podcast, Kennedy said Trump often eats “really bad food", including McDonald’s, candy and large amounts of Diet Coke. He said the president drinks Diet Coke constantly.
Kennedy said travelling with Trump gives the impression that he is “pumping himself full of poison all day long". Despite this, he said Trump has the “constitution of a deity" and added that he does not understand how the president remains alive and energetic.
According to Kennedy, Trump has said he eats junk food mainly when travelling. He prefers food from big eateries because he trusts it and wants to avoid getting sick while on the road.
Kennedy said he believes the president is in excellent physical condition and usually eats good food. He cited a medical assessment by Dr Mehmet Oz, who said Trump had unusually high testosterone levels for someone over 70.
White House medical report
Last month, the White House released details of an MRI scan showing Trump was in excellent health. His doctor said his heart, organs and abdominal imaging were normal. Trump, who turns 80 in June, is the oldest US president sworn into office.
