Michelle Obama’s latest photoshoot has triggered a wave of online speculation about her recent weight loss, with some social media users questioning whether the former U.S. First Lady may be using Ozempic or similar GLP-1 medications.
Obama shared behind-the-scenes footage on Instagram from a shoot with renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, where she appeared in a casual grey T-shirt, jeans and suede boots, confidently posing and revealing a glimpse of her toned midriff.
In her caption, Obama praised Leibovitz’s ability to tell stories through images, noting that the photographer’s iconic book Women broadened how society views women and their lived experiences. She wrote that being photographed again for the updated edition was an honour and said she hoped the new project would inspire others.
The images, however, quickly prompted unfounded chatter on X, where users debated how the 61-year-old had slimmed down. Some commenters directly attributed her physique to Ozempic, while others suggested the possibility of GLP-1 drugs, despite acknowledging she could equally have achieved the change through disciplined training and nutrition.
