Modi Government’s 100-Day Action Plan: Ministries Gear Up, Key Initiatives Lined Up for September

All ministries will showcase their initiatives and achievements post second week of September till the end of the month

As the Narendra Modi-led government is completing 100 days of governance next month, ministries have started gearing up for planning and execution of related events. All ministries have been asked to organise events and inaugurate initiatives as part of the ‘Comprehensive 100 Days Key Action Plan’, which were finalised earlier.

A senior official familiar with the development stated that a communication has been sent to all ministries regarding the plan, which will be starting from second week of September. All ministries will showcase their initiatives and achievements post second week of September till the end of the month.

Sources said that all the secretaries of various ministries have been asked to schedule meeting regarding the action plan and its finalisation. “The Government of India has rolled out a comprehensive 100 Days Key Action Plan for implementing key initiatives across various ministries and departments. Ministries have been asked to finalize the inauguration of various planned initiatives,” a senior government official told News18.

Various government departments will launch initiatives and plan events to be attended by top officials, including Managing Directors, CEOs, and Heads. These events will be held in the presence of ministers.

As part of the plan, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has finalised the inauguration of several initiatives, including Samanvaya (Joint Management Information System), Cyber Commandos, and the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC). An event is planned for the second week of September, with various corporates invited.

Similarly, the Civil Aviation Ministry will launch initiatives aimed at improving passenger flying experiences and safety. The Health Ministry is expected to announce the digitisation of vaccines and the extensive use of drones for medical supplies, according to an official.

Although ministries have finalised their initiatives, some details may still change. The Education Ministry is also likely to introduce projects aimed at reforming the education system, including streamlined accreditation and assessment processes for universities.

Earlier, before the General Election 2024, on March 3, during a nine-hour meeting with all secretaries, Prime Minister Modi stated: “This election will be different… regular work will continue despite the elections… bureaucracy should feel continuity despite the election season.”

He instructed officers that under his government, “bureaucrats had forgotten what a Sunday is,” and urged them to “think big” rather than focusing on “low-hanging fruit” for the 100-day plan. The Prime Minister also told all secretaries, “When I come back in June, I will review the 100-day and 5-year plans.”
