Mozilla is warning its Firefox and Thunderbird users about the issues and the Indian government is also doing its bit.

The Indian government has been kept busy with multiple security risks becoming a concern for millions and now Mozilla’s Firefox and Thunderbird have entered their focus. Over the last few weeks, Android and even Apple users in India have got security risk alerts and now it is coming to those using the Firefox browser.
These users have also been alerted about some major security risks via a January 2026 bulletin that can be handled by updating to the latest version of the Mozilla products which includes Thunderbird as well.

The biggest concern about this alert is that multiple Firefox products are affected by this new threat.
Firefox Security Issue: Know The Details
The bulletin from CERT-In suggests the issues can cause big issues if they are exploited. “Multiple vulnerabilities exist in Mozilla products due to Mitigation bypass in the Privacy: Anti-Tracking component; Use-after free in the Layout: Scrolling and Overflow component; CSS-based exfiltration of the content from partially encrypted emails when allowing remote content. A remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by convincing a victim to open a specially crafted web request."

Mozilla has shared the details about the security issue in a post and also highlighted the Firefox versions affected and even those using the Thunderbird mailing client.
