Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani, his youngest son Anant Ambani, and daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant recently visited the iconic BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in London at 6.50pm on July 13. This spiritual visit occurred shortly after Anant and Radhika celebrated their first wedding anniversary on July 12.

Their visit to the Neasden Temple, as it is popularly known, underscores the Ambani family’s deep-rooted faith and traditions, which remain a constant amidst their high-profile public and business engagements.

Images on social media showed Mukesh Ambani, Anant, and Radhika engaging in prayers and seeking blessings at this revered Hindu temple.

About the temple

The BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in London is not only a significant place of worship for the Hindu community in the UK but also an architectural marvel that attracts visitors from various backgrounds. It is a masterpiece of traditional Hindu design and exquisite workmanship that rises serenely amid London’s iconic skyline.

Using 5,000 tonnes of Italian Carrara and Indian Ambaji marble and the finest Bulgarian limestone, it was hand-carved in India before being assembled in London, and inaugurated by Pujya Pramukh Swami Maharaj in 1995.

The wedding

Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani tied the knot in a star-studded affair on July 12, 2024. The marriage ceremony was held at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre and was India’s most widely followed cultural phenomenon—one that put the country on the global map—with millions globally witnessing the beautiful and deeply meaningful rituals unfold across mainstream and social media.

The young Ambani couple chose to meticulously follow every Indian tradition and custom—a choice stemming from their deep reverence for these practices and a profound desire to commence their married life with the blessings and wisdom of elders and spiritual leaders.

The wedding was a remarkable gathering of religious and spiritual leaders from various Vedic Hindu traditions, making it the largest congregation of such figures at a wedding ceremony in recent memory.
