NBCC bags ₹109 crore work orders for Odisha hostels and Srinagar laboratory project

State-run NBCC (India) Ltd on Friday (July 24) said it has secured two work orders worth approximately ₹108.85 crore (excluding Goods and Services Tax) in the ordinary course of business.

The larger of the two orders, valued at around ₹88.43 crore, has been awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Odisha, Cuttack. The contract is for the construction of boys' and girls' hostels at various locations in Odisha under the directorate.

The second order, worth approximately ₹20.42 crore, has been awarded by the Horticulture Board. The project involves the construction of the Clean Plant Centre Laboratory and Office Building at the ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (ICAR-CITH), Srinagar, under the Clean Plant Programme.

NBCC said both contracts have been awarded by domestic entities and are for project management consultancy services. The company also said the orders were received in the normal course of business. It added that neither contract involves related-party transactions or any promoter or promoter group interest in the awarding entities.

In July this year, NBCC (India) Ltd said it has received work orders worth approximately ₹132.28 crore for construction projects in Assam and Odisha, according to its regulatory filing.

The contracts include construction of permanent campuses for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) in South Salmara and West Karbianglong districts of Assam, each valued at approximately ₹55.46 crore (excluding GST). Both projects have been awarded by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

The company has also secured a contract worth ₹21.36 crore for the construction of a 200-bedded sports hostel in Sambalpur, Odisha, located adjacent to Dr Jhasaketan Sahu Swimming Pool. The project has been awarded by the Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha.

All three contracts are domestic in nature and fall under project management consultancy (PMC) services. NBCC said the work is part of its normal course of business.

The company stated that the orders are to be executed under standard contractual terms, with no promoter or group company interest in the awarding entities, and they do not qualify as related party transactions.

Shares of NBCC (India) Ltd ended at ₹93.85, down by ₹0.70, or 0.75%, on the BSE.
