Kharge blamed the deadly blast near Delhi's Red Fort on the failure of the government and called for exemplary punishment for the accused.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge targeted the BJP-led Centre for failing to stop terror attacks despite controlling multiple law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and calling for a thorough investigation into the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed 12.
“We have demanded an investigation into the bomb blast. A thorough investigation should be conducted, and punishment should be given accordingly. No leniency should be shown to anyone involved. Whoever is guilty must be punished. People should fear committing such acts," he told reporters in Bengaluru.
Kharge said it was unfortunate that such incidents were happening in the national capital and implied that this topic would be discussed in the upcoming Parliament session from December 1.
“You have intelligence agencies, the IB, the CBI, and many other agencies right there. Even with all these agencies, the government has failed. We will speak further once the full investigation report is available," he further stated.
Priyank Kharge’s Charge At Amit Shah
On Tuesday, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge targeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah, describing him as “incompetent" after 12 people were killed in a devastating car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening.
“Probably, Mr Amit Shah is the most incompetent Home Minister in independent India. In any other state or country, he would have been thrown out of the Cabinet. But he is indispensable because he shares all the secrets of Mr Modi," Kharge told news agency ANI.
“Why is the Home Minister of India not being held accountable? Is he there only to dislodge state governments? Is he there only to do politics? If he is going to do only that, let him get back to his party fold. How many more lives should be lost to his incompetence?" he added.
Delhi Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act. Multiple raids are being carried out to trace those behind the explosion, officials said. The national capital remains on high alert, with security tightened at airports, railway stations, and major public places.
Several suspects – including doctors from Haryana’s Al-Falah University – have been taken into custody in connection with the blast, police confirmed. Security has been stepped up across the capital, particularly at high-footfall areas such as Connaught Place and major road intersections.
