The US military struck and set on fire an Iranian drone carrier ship on Thursday as the forces continue to target the Iranian Navy amid Operation ‘Epic Fury’. The carrier ship, they said, was “roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier".

In a post on ‘X’, the US Central Command wrote, “U.S. forces aren’t holding back on the mission to sink the entire Iranian Navy. Today, an Iranian drone carrier, roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier, was struck and is now on fire."

The U.S. military strikes against the Iranian navy have intensified amid the ongoing hostilities with Tehran.

According to Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command (Centcom), over 30 of Iranian warships have been sunk or destroyed.

The development comes as geopolitical tensions soar, with the United States and Israel intensifying war on Iran, hitting targets inside the country. Iran, on the other hand, has continued to retaliate by targeting US interests in the region.

US Sinks Iranian Warship In Indian Ocean

An Iranian frigate carrying an estimated 180 Navy personnel on board was sunk in the Indian Ocean by a US submarine on Wednesday, killing 87 people on board.

Addressing the press in Washington, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Iranian warship that sank in the Indian Ocean was the Islamic Republic’s “prize ship".

It was “the first sinking of an enemy ship by a torpedo since World War II", he added.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi warned the US will “bitterly regret" the precedent it has set. “The U.S. has perpetrated an atrocity at sea, 2,000 miles away from Iran’s shores," he said in a post on ‘X’.

“Frigate Dena, a guest of India’s Navy carrying almost 130 sailors, was struck in international waters without warning. Mark my words: The U.S. will come to bitterly regret the precedent it has set."
