A day after the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday announced the commencement of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025, Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India Yu Jing congratulated Indians selected for the spiritual experience and hoped that they will enjoy the hospitality of the Chinese people.

Taking to X, she wrote, “Warm congratulations on 750 Indian friends who have been selected to undertake this year’s Kailash Manasarovar Yatra! Hope they will not only get spiritually enriched but also enjoy the hospitality of Chinese people."

The much-awaited Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 is scheduled to begin in June and continue till August. A total of 750 yatris have been selected through a computerised, random, and gender-balanced draw, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.

Here’s how the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 will be conducted:

The Yatra will be conducted via two fully motorable routes — Lipulekh and Nathu La — significantly reducing the need for strenuous trekking.

The Lipulekh route will see five batches of 50 yatris each, while the Nathu La route will accommodate ten batches of 50 yatris each. Each batch will be accompanied by two liaison officers (LOs)

Significance Of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra holds significance for Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists. The yatra offers an opportunity to the pilgrims to visit the sacred Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in Tibet.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and remained on hold in subsequent years following a violent border clash between India and China.
