State-run NTPC Green Energy Ltd has commissioned 150 MW of solar capacity at a 300 MW project in Rajasthan, boosting its overall renewable portfolio.

The capacity belongs to Project Sixteen Renewable Power Pvt Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Pvt Ltd, the company’s joint venture, stated the exchange filing. The unit has been declared commercially operational with effect from April 18, 2026.

With this addition, NTPC Green Energy’s total installed capacity has risen to 10,276.40 MW from 10,126.40 MW earlier, reinforcing its growing footprint in the renewable energy space, as per filing.

Q3 results

For the December quarter (Q3), NTPC Green Energy reported a net profit of ₹17.5 crore, down 73% year-on-year from ₹65.6 crore. However, revenue rose 29.4% to ₹653.3 crore, compared with ₹505 crore in the year-ago period.

Operating performance remained strong, with EBITDA climbing 33.8% year-on-year to ₹567 crore. Margins also improved, with EBITDA margin expanding to 86.8% from 84% a year ago.

NTPC Green Energy Ltd, the flagship vehicle for NTPC’s clean energy push, an umbrella company for green business initiatives of NTPC, undertakes projects through organic and inorganic routes.

Shares of NTPC Green Energy Ltd ended higher on Thursday, April 16, by 1.41% at ₹108.79 on the NSE.
