Iran launched a fresh salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel on Sunday, confirmed the elite Revolutionary Guards, after the US military conducted airstrikes targeting three key nuclear sites in Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz.

At least 27 Iranian missiles were launched in two waves, some of which struck northern and central Israel on Sunday, hitting areas including Haifa, Nes Ziona, Rishon Lezion, and Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media reports. Israeli paramedics said at least 16 people were wounded in the Iranian missile attack.

Authorities reported several impact sites across Israel during Israel’s missile barrage, likely the result of either Iranian missiles evading Israel’s air defences or falling shrapnel, according to the New York Times.

Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency service, buildings and cars wrecked in the attack can be seen amid smoke. “There was a massive explosion. Everything shook. I don’t know what happened," a witness told The Times of Israel.

A man in his 30s was moderately wounded by shrapnel, while 15 others are lightly hurt, according to the Israeli emergency service. Later, the Israeli military’s Home Front Command says civilians can leave shelters following Iran’s ballistic missile attack.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it has launched a new wave of airstrikes at Iran, targeting ballistic missile launchers. The Israeli Air Force said it struck several primed ballistic missile launchers and eliminated Iranian soldiers.
