US President Donald Trump declared that Iran will “never" be able to rebuild its nuclear program in the aftermath of recent US airstrikes on key nuclear facilities, dismissing reports that the damage was limited. Speaking to reporters outside the White House before leaving for the NATO summit in the Netherlands, Donald Trump was asked whether Iran had the capability to recover its nuclear infrastructure following the strikes.

“Iran will never rebuild itself," he said, adding, “That place is under rock, that place is demolished."

The US President also praised the performance of the US military, singling out the pilots involved in the high-risk operation. He said, “The B-2 pilots did their job, they did it better than anybody could even imagine."

Iran Vows To Continue Nuclear Programme

Tehran appears determined to push ahead with its nuclear programme despite strikes by the United States and Israel on key Iranian nuclear facilities. Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, said the country had prepared in advance for such scenarios and would ensure no disruption to production or services.

“The plan is to prevent interruptions in the process of production and services," Mohammad Eslami said, adding that damage assessments were currently underway at affected sites.

At the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Iran’s ambassador to the UN, Ali Bahreini, strongly condemned the attacks, calling them “criminal" and accusing both the US and Israel of acting on a distorted report by the Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He reiterated Iran’s position that it will not renounce its right to peaceful nuclear energy and warned that the strikes had harmed not only Iran but the broader non-proliferation framework globally.
