On way to first job in Lebanon, 22-year-old from Maharashtra caught in Iran war

As the US-Iran conflict expanded across the Middle East, with Iran targeting US bases across the Gulf, hundreds of Indians found themselves stranded. Among them was 22-year-old Omkar Bhosle from Maharashtra, who was on his way to Lebanon to begin his first job as a sailor.

It was Omkar’s first journey outside India, undertaken in the hope of building a better life. But his plans were abruptly disrupted as he found himself caught in the middle of the escalating conflict. India Today’s Ashraf Wani spoke to the young Maharashtrian at Jordan’s Amman Airport.
