Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office amid anticipation over the upcoming notification of Pakistan’s new Chief of Defence Forces, according to government sources.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and senior officials from the Pakistan Army’s Judge Advocate General (JAG) branch were present at the meeting, which sources described as “crucial" to finalising the legal framework for the new command structure.
