US President Donald Trump expressed condolences after the devastating terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, offering full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India.
“Deeply disturbing news out of Kashmir. The United States stands strong with India against Terrorism. We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all!," Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
Trump’s message of solidarity came after Jammu and Kashmir witnessed one of the worst terrorist attacks on civilians since the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, as Lashkar-linked terrorists opened fire on unarmed tourists and locals in Pahalgam on Tuesday.
At least 28 people, including foreign nationals, were killed and several others were injured in the terror attack. The terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba-linked (LeT) the Resistance Front (TRF) took responsibility for the attack.
Top intelligence sources said 4 to 6 terrorists were involved in the Pahalgam attack, including three foreign nationals and one local from Kashmir. M4 and AK-47 bullets were recovered from the site. Security forces have been rushed to the spot, and they have cordoned off the area.
The attack was condemned by people from all political parties. Russian President Vladimir Putin also extended condolences to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condemning the incident as a “brutal crime" with “no justification whatsoever".
