Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome as he arrived to address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament in Addis Ababa on Wednesday, marking his address to the 18th parliament across the world.

Calling the moment a great privilege, PM Modi said it was wonderful to be in Ethiopia, the “land of lions". He added that he felt at home, drawing a personal link to his home state Gujarat, which is also known for its lions, prompting smiles and applause in the House.
