US President Donald Trump on Feb 20 said the Russians "have the cards" in any negotiation to end the war in Ukraine. This came after Trump branded Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a "dictator" who refuses to hold elections. The new US administration has initiated negotiations with Russia aimed to end the three-year-old war in Ukraine. The first talks in a series of engagements to end the war were held in Saudi capital Riyadh on Feb. 18, without a Ukrainian presence. Kyiv on Feb. 19 rejected Putin’s claim that Russian troops had crossed into Ukraine's Sumy region, calling it a "lie." Putin had suggested a ground attack from Russia’s Kursk border region on Ukraine's Sumy for the first time since Russia retreated from there in 2022. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION1:48 “A LIE…” KYIV DENIES RUSSIAN TROOPS ENTERED SUMY REGION3:18 ZELENSKY DISCUSSES “SECURITY GUARANTEES” WITH NATO CHIEF6:02 ALLIES DEFEND “DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED” ZELENSKY
