In response to a question on his role in the 2029 general elections, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday said that what was seen in the past years of the government was just a “newsreel" and the “real film" was yet to come.
“Abhi tak jo hua hain woh to newsreel thi. Asli film shuru hona aur baaki hain (what you have seen so far is just a newsreel, the real film is yet to begin)," he said in an interview with Uday Nirgudkar in Nagpur on 11 years of the Narendra Modi government.
He, however, emphasised that the responsibilities for its functionaries are decided by the party and that he would work as per the role and responsibility given to him by the party.
“The party decides the responsibilities of the worker and what work he will do. I will carry out whatever responsibility is given to me," Gadkari said.
He also added that he has never published his political biodata, nor has he ever asked supporters to give him a grand welcome on airports.
Nitin Gadkari’s Focus On Agriculture And Social Initiatives
Nitin Gadkari mentioned that his focus is to work towards stopping farmer suicides in Vidarbha and work more on agriculture and other social initiatives.
“Nowadays, I work more on agriculture and other social initiatives rather than road works," he said.
Nitin Gadkari Blames Population For India’s Per Capita Income
Nitin Gadkari blamed the country’s population for India’s per capita income not being among the top 10 in the world.
Further, extending support to the population control bill, he said, “This is not a religious or linguistic issue. This is an economic issue. Despite so much development having taken place, the fruits are not to be seen. The reason is the increasing population."
