Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is the most premium in the lineup for Xiaomi with some notable upgrades and a higher price tag.

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is the latest, premium version of the popular series.

Redmi Notes have matured, evolved and became expensive in the last few years and Xiaomi says the Redmi Note 15 Pro series is a sign that things are reversing back in time. The Redmi Note series stood for value and the right mix of features. The market has changed since then, which means the latest Redmi Note 15 Pro+ looks to appeal to a newer audience who recall the brand and its value.

The company feels that people are willing to spend more so they need to get more features for the higher price. But do these upgrades really make the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ worth going for? We looked for these answers.

Focus On Design

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ goes for a premium design with its vegan leather finish at the back, a sleek design, and the quad curved panel which brings the whole device together. Does it win any of the thinnest phone awards, no but having IP68 and IP69 ratings do count for something, especially for a Redmi device.

In fact, it weighs 207 grams and has a 8.2mm frame. The company has even done its version of drop tests to show the strength of its structure but again, these are very hard to judge on a case to case basis. Having said that, there are a lot of things to like about the new model, at least for its in-hand feel and finishing.

Punchy Display

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ sports a quad-curved AMOLED display which is a better version of the 3D curved panels and offers better grip and less chances of accidentally dropping the phone.

The screen is large, bright, offers punchy colours, just the right mix you need to watch videos, consume content and more. Even the outdoor brightness level of the display is adequate to let you read through the screen.

The Performance Conundrum

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is the premium version in the series by Xiaomi using the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and it did raise some eyebrows at launch. This is a reliable piece of hardware which doesn’t feel wanted for daily use and some more. However, in comparison to the OnePlus Nord 5 or the Realme 16 Pro series, this device feels lacking, more so for the price you pay and not the actual value quotient of the hardware.

You can also play games on the device with the chipset powering the experience but the levels will be slightly managed and most people might feel limited because of that.

In addition to this, Xiaomi continues to give the Android 15-based HyperOS 2 version for its new devices, and that means the OS upgrade promise includes the current available Android 16 version. We have written quite a bit about the HyperOS version and don’t see the need to say anything further.

Camera That Shines

Having said that, the 200MP main camera in the dual system is a strong upgrade from the brand, and you see its obvious quality in daylight conditions. The images are sharp, offer ample details and the dynamic range keeps it balanced.

The second unit is not a telephoto lens and that means the portrait game of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ doesn’t match up to the rest in the segment. The low light imaging could use some tweaks with updates that could improve the results.

Goes Long And Swift

The new Redmi Note 15 Pro model packs a 6,500mAh silicon carbon grade battery which makes it possible to keep the device sleek for its size. It supports 100W wired fast charging speed that can take you to 100 percent in under 40 minutes with the bundled adapter.

Endurance is never going to be an issue for the new Redmi Note phone, and even with its bright display and other features, the large battery handles the load for well over a day and we got over 7 hours of screen-on-time on heavy usage during our tests.

Redmi Note 15 Pro+ gets some solid upgrades, and that is needed for the prices going up. The durability factor, the display and the main camera is a highlight, even the battery life has improved. But when you factor in the experience, the hardware choice could have been different, and then we would have spoken about the device in a different light.
