Reliance Consumer Products Limited on Tuesday (December 16) announced its entry into the packaged foods segment with the relaunch of legacy brand SIL as its flagship offering in the category.
The FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited said the relaunch of the 75-year-old brand marks its comprehensive foray into the foods segment, starting with a portfolio spanning noodles, jams, ketchups, sauces and spreads.
The company said SIL has been refreshed with a new identity while retaining flavours associated with the brand. As RCPL’s flagship foods brand, SIL will anchor the company’s packaged foods portfolio.
RCPL said the initial noodles range will include four variants — Masala, Atta with Veggies, Korean K-Fire and Chow-Chow — with prices starting at ₹5. The SIL ketchup range will be made from real tomatoes and will be available in packs starting at ₹1. The mixed fruit jam, made using eight fruits, will be sold in 100g, 200g and 500g packs, with prices starting at ₹22.
Ketan Mody, Executive Director at Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said, "We make our first comprehensive entry into the packaged foods space. By introducing SIL as our flagship foods brand, and expanding it across noodles, jams, ketchups, sauces and spreads, we aim to build a strong and accessible foods portfolio for every household."
The shares of Reliance Industries ended 1% in the red on Tuesday, December 16. The stock has gained over 26% in the year so far.
