Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Markets snapped a four-session losing streak on Tuesday, recovering sharply from intraday lows as benchmark indices ended higher and breadth remained positive.
The Sensex gained 383 points to close at 74,650, while the Nifty rose 101 points to settle at 23,484 after recovering more than 1% from the day's low. The Nifty Bank index added 72 points to 53,715, while the Nifty Midcap 100 advanced 114 points to 60,942.
IT stocks led the rebound, with the Nifty IT index extending gains for a third straight session as all its constituents ended in the green. TCS, Infosys and HCLTech were among the top Nifty gainers, alongside Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports. Market breadth remained favourable, with the NSE advance-decline ratio at 3:2.
Among individual stocks, Groww rose over 2% after receiving SEBI approval for State Street's AMC stake acquisition, while NMDC gained 3% after reporting a 20% jump in May iron ore production. Hero MotoCorp ended higher following healthy May sales numbers, and Maruti Suzuki recovered more than 3% from the day's lows after positive commentary on entry-level demand.
On the downside, NHPC fell over 6% after the government launched an OFS of up to 6% equity, while Force Motors declined nearly 6% after reporting a 15% drop in May sales.
