Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Sensex rose 291 points to close at 77,094, while the Nifty gained 90 points to end above the 24,100 mark at 24,102. The Nifty Bank advanced 250 points to 57,936, while the Nifty Midcap index added 212 points to settle at 62,729.
Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: Benchmark indices ended higher after a rangebound session, supported by gains in heavyweight stocks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries and Infosys.
The Sensex rose 291 points to close at 77,094, while the Nifty gained 90 points to end above the 24,100 mark at 24,102. The Nifty Bank advanced 250 points to 57,936, while the Nifty Midcap index added 212 points to settle at 62,729.
Sectorally, IT and pharma stocks led the gains, while FMCG was the only major laggard. Cipla emerged as the top Nifty gainer, climbing 5% after a positive brokerage note. Fertiliser stocks also saw buying interest on hopes of improved supply, with FACT gaining 3%, while Bharat Dynamics and BEL advanced on reports of UAE interest in BrahMos and Akashteer systems.
Among individual stocks, Kirloskar Oil hit the 20% upper circuit after securing an AI data centre order and receiving a target price upgrade from JM Financial. Power Mech rose 3%, while RVNL gained over 1%.
Market breadth remained firmly positive, with advances outnumbering declines by 2:1 on the NSE.
