Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty had to tussle between the banks and IT stocks mid-week and once banks threw in the towel, profit booking only accelerated. The 24,350 level is an important one on the downside for the index, below which, a move to 24,200 could also be likely.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today is the Sensex weekly expiry session and the one factor that has had the markets on the edge has returned. Brent crude is back above $100. In fact, it even tested levels of $102 on Wednesday evening.
The Nifty had to tussle between the banks and IT stocks mid-week and once banks threw in the towel, profit booking only accelerated. The 24,350 level is an important one on the downside for the index, below which, a move to 24,200 could also be likely.
On the upside, 24,500 - 24,600 remains a congestion zone. The Nifty Bank bulls would hope that Wednesday was just routine profit booking after a sharp recovery rally, and that 57,000 is protected on the downside.
IT will be in focus yet again ahead of results from Infosys after market hours. Also watch for earnings reactions from Trent, LTTS, Bharat Coking Coal, Tata Communications and others.
