Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is the final hour of the day's trade, and the pressure is on the indices, as markets slip to the lows of the day again. An attempt at recovery has been sold into. The Nifty index is slumping over 200 points, dropping towards 24,200. The Nifty Bank index is also down, falling over 600 points, testing the 56,000 mark. SBi Life, IndiGo and Mahindra & Mahindra are the top gainers.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Here we are, at the halfway mark of this trading session, and the markets, while marginally off the lowest point of the day, remain under pressure.
As we move closer to the end of the day, the Nifty is down over 150 points, dropping towards the 24,200 mark. The Sensex is down over 670 points, falling below 78,000.
Today is the Sensex weekly expiry session, and the one factor that has had the markets on edge has returned. Brent crude is back above $100. In fact, it even tested levels of $102 on Wednesday evening.
The Nifty Auto Index is under pressure.
As for Nifty 50, the 24,350 level is an important one on the downside for the index, below which, a move to 24,200 could also be likely.
On the upside, 24,500 - 24,600 remains a congestion zone. The Nifty Bank bulls would hope that Wednesday was just routine profit booking after a sharp recovery rally, and that 57,000 is protected on the downside.
IT will be in focus yet again ahead of results from Infosys after market hours. Also watch for earnings reactions from Trent, LTTS, Bharat Coking Coal, Tata Communications and others.
