Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty is now down nearly 2,000 points from its record high levels of 26,374, which it had surged to around the same time last month. 50% of that 2,000-point fall has just come in the last three trading sessions.
Today's session will also be the weekly expiry of the Sensex contracts and the bulls would take hope from the overnight rebound on Wall Street to undo some of the damage from this week.
The bulls would also hope that there is no further violation of Wednesday's low of 24,305. Selling emerged as the Nifty crossed the 24,600 mark on Wednesday, making that a key resistance level on the upside.
The Nifty Bank is down 3,000 points now from its peak, but managed to hold 58,500 on the downside. There have been pockets of outperformance, including defence and sugar names. Crude prices showing no signs of easing could act as a dampener even as more clarity is awaited on the war front.
